Our adventures are popular in the Guanacaste area. The closeness to the beach and the fact that the volcano is active makes the area a popular destination. Adventures for all ages , plus nature and lots of volcanic activity makes the area the place to change the pace.

Yes, we called Guachipelin in the morning right after they opened and got there soon after.
We have amazing pictures and videos of my daughter’s adventures! I’ll make sure and show them to her when she’ll become a mother and worry about her kids! All those “Tarzan swings” and upside-down ziplining….good thing I didn’t know anything about them at the time they were happening!:-)))
El año 2012 fué un año de nuevas rutas Aereas
El año 2012 fue un año de nuevas y mas conecciones areas para Costa Rica:
• IBERIA incrementó en un 5% su capacidad en la ruta San José – Madrid. La oferta de asientos disponible mensual es de 20.807 (vuelo completo) Fecha de inicio: 23 de enero.
• AEROMEXICO, aumentó de una a dos frecuencias diarias en la ruta San José – México D.F. Ruta operada con un Boeing 737 con capacidad para 124 pasajeros, con lo que generaría 36.208 asientos. Fecha de inicio: 28 de marzo.
• Copa Airlines Liberia – Panamá, vuela 2 veces por semana (el primer vuelo “leissure” itinerado hacia ese destino con conexiones a más de 68 destinos de Suramérica y el Caribe). La ruta la operan con aviones Embraer 190, con capacidad para 94 pasajeros. Equivale a 55 vuelos en esta nueva ruta y 5170 asientos. Fecha de inicio: 24 de junio
• AVIANCA San José – Monterrey, 3 veces por semana, con un equipo Embraer 190 con capacidad para 96 pasajeros. Esto equivale a 92 vuelos en total y 8832 asientos para el periodo que abarca del 1 junio al 31 de diciembre de 2012.
• INTERJET, San José- México D.F, vuelo diario, con un A320 con capacidad para 150 asientos. Esto generaría 1050 asientos desde Ciudad de México a San José. Fecha de inicio: 21 de junio.
• AEROMEXICO inició operaciones en la ruta San José – Cancún con 3 frecuencias semanales, operada por equipos Boeing 737 de última generación con capacidad para 124 pasajeros. Fecha de inicio: 7 de Julio.
• WestJet en la ruta Toronto- Liberia. La aerolínea vuela de forma itinerada dos veces por semana y utiliza un avión Boeing 737-800, con capacidad para 166 pasajeros (el avión más grande de su flota). Se estima que el crecimiento anual en el número de asientos sería de 34.528 para ambas vías. Fecha de inicio: 29 de octubre.
Los empresarios turisticos esperan que mejore la afluencia a sus empresas por medio de todas estas nuevas conecciones.

Level 4 Sustainability
Adventure Tours from Hacienda Guchipelin has recently been awarded with Level 4 in sustainability. This is a great recognition for the effort to be more sustainable in all of our practices and all of our work. The best part of it is that the staff has a new way of looking at things.
According to the the Ministry of Tourism of Costa Rica in the web site:
Sustainability, as a model of development, seeks to meet the current demands of society without compromising the rights of future generations to meet theirs. That is to say, the development of the country cannot be based on the unbalanced exploitation of resources (natural, cultural, social, etc.) to meet the demands of society (food, housing, health, employment) because these are the only resources we have, and that future generations have, to meet our and their own needs.
