Located in a beautiful place surrounded by forest, only 150 meters from the hotel, the Butterfly Garden presents three of the largest families of butterflies in Costa Rica. In the majestic Rincó de la Vieja scenery, butterflies fly through the forest.

One of the most famous butterflies you can find in the Butterfly Garden is the Blue Morpho. Considered one of the most beautiful butterflies in the world, the Blue Morpho is also the biggest and most famous butterfly in Costa Rica. The Morpho Butterfly is so important in Costa Rica that you can find it in the ₡50.000 bill.

It seems to have eyespots to protect them from predators like birds and insects.

Its bright blue coloring is unique. When the blue morpho flaps its wings upon flying the bright blue back makes them look like they are appearing and disappearing into the air.
