Late check out has an additional fee and it is subject to availability. You must ask at the check-in.

The lodging includes buffet breakfast, access to the Rio Negro Hot Springs and waterfalls at the hotel like Chorreras, Oropendola, and Rio Negro Waterfalls.

Cancellations will be effective from the date of receipt of written notice by email info@guachipelin.com from our Reservations department and confirmation received by our hotel. If you apply for a refund, it shall be in accordance with our policies as detailed below:

• Full payment is due upon reservation. No refunds or credit for cancellations, no show or parcels or portions of unused reserves.
• Early departures will be charged in full.
• Cancellations must be received in writing.
• Any cancellation at least 15 days before arrival will be charged 100% of the total amount.
• Cancellation of reservations for Easter, Christmas or New Year (December 20 to January 2) with less than 30 days before the date of arrival will incur a penalty of 100%.
• From December 20 to January 5: 2 night minimum stay.
• Cancellation policies don’t apply for Non Refundable rates. In case a reservation is made with a non-refundable rate there will be no refund.
• Black Friday Sale is a non-refundable rate

Yes, you can get to the hotel by any kind of vehicle and the whole road is paved.

The Rincon de la Vieja area features a dry tropical forest. There are two weather seasons during the year, the dry season and the rainy season. The dry season is from December to April. During this season it remains sunny, warmed, and windy. Nonetheless, inside the national park are rainy probabilities due to the mountain’s altitude.

The rainy season is from May to November. In this season, rains are less predictable and have more intensity during the afternoons and nights or in the mornings. However, in July or August there a couple of weeks of drought, called Veranillo de San Juan.

The reception opens from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Although the reception closes at 10:00 pm if you arrive after that time, a security guard will be waiting for you to give you the room key. It is always recommendable to go to the reception the following morning before or after breakfast (breakfast is from 6:30 am to 9:00 am) in order to complete the check-in process and receive all the information about the hotel.

La Hacienda Restaurant is open from 6:30 am to 9:00 pm with a la carte options. Buffet breakfast is from 6:30 am to 9:00 am, buffet lunch is from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, and buffet dinner is from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. It is necessary to make a reservation for dinner but you can do it at the check-in.

In La Hacienda Restaurant we have vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options. If you have any other special dietary restriction or allergies just send us an email to info@guachipelin.com and we will help you.

The closest city is Liberia, which is about 35 minutes distance from the Hacienda. The closest town is Curubande at 5 km distance.

No, there is no public transportation from Liberia City to the Hotel. Nonetheless, there is a public bus from Liberia to Curubande town once in a day at 7:40 am from Liberia-Curubande and Curubande-Liberia at 1:15 pm. Curubande town is about 5 km distance from Hacienda Guachipelin. From Curubande to the Hacienda there are no public buses or taxis around.

Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin is not a beach hotel, it is a mountain lodge. The closest beaches are about 1 hour and 10 minutes, Coco Beach and Hermosa Beach.

Yes, there is free Wi-Fi in the room and in the common areas of the hotel.

If you booked a room directly on our website or booking.com, you must present at the check-in the same credit card that you used to pay for.

Yes, we do offer laundry service for an additional cost. The rates are per clothes not per weight. You can ask for the rates at the check-in.

Yes, it is 100% recommendable to book in advance to guarantee your space, especially during high season.

Yes, there is one safe box in every room and there is no extra cost for it.

The One Day Adventure Pass starts at 8:30 am. It is recommendable to arrive some minutes before the tour starts.

Yes, for the horseback riding tours the maximum weight permitted is 240 pounds. For the river tubing adventure, canyon canopy, and canyoning the limited weight is 300 pounds.

The required minimum height for the tubing adventure is 1,40 cm.

For the tubing adventure, the minimum age required is 8 years old, for the canyoning waterfall rappelling is 10 years old. For the canyon canopy tour and horseback riding is 4 years old. These age restrictions are mandatory and there will be no exceptions, due to strict security restrictions.

Yes, it is mandatory that kids under 18 years old should always be accompanied by a responsible adult in the tours and the Hacienda’s property.

The Rio Negro Hot Springs are open every day from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Any of our tours include transportation unless you add it for an extra price.

If you are coming with your own can, you can use the parking lot in front of the adventure center meanwhile you take the activities.

Yes, it is always recommendable to book in advance to assure your space. If you show up without a reservation it will be subject to availability.

The waterfalls are open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm every day.

For all of our tours, we recommend bringing comfortable clothes and shoes. For the horseback ridings and the canyon canopy tour, we recommend to use long pants or at least at the knees pants. For the tubing adventure is mandatory to use closed-toe shoes or water shoes for security reasons.

We recommend you to bring insect repellent, sun-block, extra clothes, and shoes. You must bring your passport or ID (a copy is fine too).

It is highly recommended to avoid taking valuable possessions with you like cameras, cellphones, among others. In case of lost Hacienda Guachipelin will not assume responsibilities.

For the river tubing is mandatory to wear closed-toe shoes or water shoes to be able to take the tour.

The entrance fee to the national park is $15 dollars per person. The tours that include the entrance fee to the national park are the ones that indicate it in the description, if it is not mentioned then it is not included.

It is not possible for us to know how many people will be on a tour since this could change at any moment. Even an hour before the tour starts there could be more people.

The order of the activities is changing every day since it depends on the number of people per day, hence there is not an established order for the activities.

It is not allowed to enter to the waterfalls with food or coolers. The access to the water is under your own risk.

Reservations cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival will be penalized with 100%. No show will be charged 100%.

No, the Hacienda Guachipelin is not inside the Rincon de la Vieja National Park, it is about 5,3 km next to the main entrance of the national park Las Pailas sector.

The Rincon de la Vieja National Park is always closed on Mondays and it is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The entrance fee for non-nationals is $15 per adult, $5 per kid and for residents 1000 colones.

Yes, you can arrive in any kind of vehicle.  The road is all paved.
