We are committed to sustainable tourism in Costa Rica and are proud that Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin holds the Elite level of the strict Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST) program by the Costa Rican Tourism Board (ICT). We are always working to improve our practices.

- Greenhouse and gardens: We grow fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs in our own greenhouse, reducing our environmental footprint and offering fresh, high-quality food.
- Responsible farming: We have over 350 free-range chickens that provide us with fresh eggs daily, and our cows give us fresh milk used for making cheese and homemade desserts.
- Sustainable aquaculture: In our restaurant, we serve tilapia and shrimp from local farms, contributing to the conservation of marine ecosystems.
Water Management
- Natural water source: We have a natural spring that provides high-quality drinking water year-round.
- Wastewater treatment: We use biological systems to treat 100% of our wastewater, which is then reused for irrigation.
- Innovative cleaning practices: We employ beneficial microorganisms in our cleaning processes, ensuring a healthy environment without compromising the ecosystem.
Energy Management
- Solar energy: We harness solar power to generate electricity and provide hot water to our rooms.
- Efficient lighting: 100% of our lights are LED, and we optimize the use of natural light to reduce energy consumption.

- Waste sorting and recycling: We sort and process 100% of our waste and invite our guests to participate in the recycling process through eco-friendly points.
