Starting from the Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin, our one-day tour in Guanacaste begins with a 45-minute hike through a spectacular forest trail. Located near the entrance to the Las Pailas section of Rincón de la Vieja National Park, the La Oropéndola waterfall, with its impressive 25 meters, cascades into a turquoise pool perfect for a refreshing swim.
Upon reaching the canyon, there is a short walk on a diverse trail to reach the river. You will also need to walk a bit within the river to reach the waterfall. After relaxing and swimming for a while at the waterfall, we return to Hacienda Guachipelin.
All our horseback rides take place mainly on trails within the forest, with some short stretches on the Hacienda’s roads with traffic. This tour is guided by one of our experienced sabaneros. All participants must wear safety helmets.
Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the La Hacienda Restaurant.
Finally, relax in the hot springs of Hacienda Guachipelin, which emerge from the Rio Negro, naturally heated by the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, the most active and extensive volcano in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. You will be able to use volcanic mud, allowing you to have a spa-like treatment all over your body.
We recommend wearing closed-toe shoes, as well as long pants or knee-length shorts.
